Texas ISP Community Programs

Many Internet Service Providers (ISPs) across Texas offer low-cost plans for families who meet certain criteria, including having students at home. Other providers have opened up public WiFi access points in their communities. Connected Nation Texas (CN Texas) has been tracking what ISPs are doing to improve access during these difficult times and has compiled the list below. Households that make less than 135% of federal poverty guideline or have at least one member participating in certain public assistance programs qualify for Lifeline.

Fidelity Communications today announced on June 24 it will extend through the end of the year many of its relief measures that were set to expire on June 30, 2020, to support customers and communities in need during the COVID-19 pandemic. The company will continue to make available its 15 Mbps residential internet plan for $10 per month for the first three months of service to help low income families and those most impacted from coronavirus challenges, such as seniors and college students through December 31, 2020. Fidelity is also extending access to free public WiFi hotspots across its footprint through the end of the year in order to keep individuals and communities connected during the crisis.
