A slide from a Dec. 1 presentation to the Victoria City Council illustrates Victoria’s rate of broadband adoption. The City is seeking proposals to improve internet access in Victoria.

Developers can view the RFP document and submit questions at www.bidnetdirect.com/texas/city-of-victoria. Questions may also be emailed to Assistant City Manager Darrek Ferrell at dferrell@victoriatx.gov. Submitted questions and the City’s responses will be posted with the RFP document online.

The City will host a pre-proposal conference via Zoom on Feb. 3 at 10 a.m. Attendance is optional but strongly encouraged. Information about how to join the meeting can be found on page eight of the RFP document.

The request for proposals was developed by the Victoria Broadband Commission, a City-led group of local stakeholders in the fields of government, health care, economic development and education who are working to expand internet access by seeking solutions that will meet the needs of diverse sectors.

Proposals must be received by 1 p.m. Feb. 18, 2021. To learn more about broadband availability in Victoria, the Victoria Broadband Commission and the request for proposals, visit www.victoriatx.gov/broadband.
