Montague County Broadband Committee seeks community input for broadband survey

Montague County, Texas (June 21, 2022) – The Montague County Broadband Committee, in partnership with Connected Nation Texas (CN Texas) and funded by the Priddy Foundation, is asking residents, business owners, ranchers, agriculture producers, first responders, community institutions, and health care officials to participate in a  brief 10-minute survey designed to assess internet needs and usage throughout the community.

Survey data collected throughout the engagement will be used to create a technology action plan tailored to the unique connectivity needs of the county. The plan will be developed by leveraging CN Texas’ Connected Community Engagement Program and will be shaped directly by survey feedback.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to share their feedback before August 19. You can access the survey through the county’s website at: https://www.co.montague.tx.us/. Residents can also access the survey directly by visiting: https://connectednation.org/montague-county-texas/.

“We all know the internet is useful for various purposes, but the past couple of years have shown us that internet service is vital to our day-to-day activities,” said Charley Lanier, Montague County Grant Coordinator. “Montague County has partnered with Connected Nation to survey county residents to determine where internet service is lacking or non-existent. Please take a brief survey to enable the county to identify where internet service needs to be improved or added. Your participation is greatly appreciated!”

Montague County joins 22 other communities in the great state of Texas whose broadband projects were generously funded by the Priddy Foundation. To date, over 50 communities in the state have worked along side CN Texas to build local broadband teams, map broadband assets, and create community action plans. Each community has had one common goal – to close the Digital Divide in their residents.
