Healthcare From Anywhere: The FCC’s Impact on Telehealth Innovations and Programs

Lansing, MI. (September 15, 2020) - Connected Nation (CN), through its state program Connected Nation Michigan (CN Michigan), is hosting a series of FREE webinars focused on telehealth usage and advances for patients and doctors and how the technology is impacting the healthcare industry as a whole.

Join CN Michigan on Tuesday, September 22 at 10am (CT)/11am (ET) for a discussion with Ryan Palmer, the Chief of the Telecommunications Access Policy Division (TAPD) within the Wireline Competition Bureau of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The Division Palmer leads has principal oversight responsibility for all aspects of universal service policy issues, including the COVID-19 Telehealth Program.

“Since the Coronavirus outbreak, the immediate need for expanding telehealth and telemedicine has grown tremendously,” said Eric Frederick, Executive Director, CN Michigan. “Decisions made at the FCC during the pandemic have opened doors for many healthcare providers to reach more of their patients. We want to help everyone understand how these decisions are made, what they should know to access telehealth, and how what is happening at the federal level impacts people at home.”

During this webinar, we will explore the FCC’s approach to telemedicine before and during the pandemic as well as long-term plans for improving and expanding access to this technology to more people and communities.
