Human-I-T, Connected Nation and Amazon Launch Digital inclusion Initiative

Detroit, Mich. (June 25, 2024) - On Monday, June 24th, Human-I-T, a leading social enterprise committed to bridging the Digital Divide, launched a new initiative in partnership with eero, an Amazon Company and Connected Nation. This initiative, announced during a free tech giveaway event, aims to provide up to 1000 eero devices, internet access, digital skills training, and tech support to underserved communities.

Held at the Human-I-T 7 Mile Retail Store, Human-I-T Senior Manager Impact Partnerships, Jennifer Jambor reported, "At Human-I-T, we are not just providing access to low-cost devices and internet service - we're helping Detroiters unlock their full potential. By partnering with eero and Connected Nation, we are able to provide access to new technology for our community members."

As the tech industry increasingly focuses on digital inclusion, this collaboration between Human-I-T, Connected Nation, and eero represents a unique effort to provide underserved communities with necessary digital resources. Reliable Wi-Fi has become critical for everyday activities including, but not limited to, work, school, and healthcare.

By connecting eero Pro devices to existing internet connections, eligible residents can eliminate dead zones and achieve fast, reliable Wi-Fi throughout their home. "The eero Pro's True Mesh technology optimizes Wi-Fi connectivity by continually monitoring and proactively fixing issues before they happen," said, Global Head of Product Marketing at eero, Haidee Griswold, "The result is lightning fast connectivity users can count on 24/7, minimizing dead spots in coverage. eero's reliability is crucial to internet users everywhere as they navigate working from home, school and other daily needs."

With support from Connect Nation, the eero Pros will make it into the hands of community members and households that lack reliable Wi-Fi in their area. "Our goal is to get these devices into the hands of those in most need. By working with partner organizations we were able to pinpoint exactly where we could make the highest impact in leading to generating positive long term change," said Emily Jordan, Connect Nation, Vice President.
