Digital Skills Training helped this participant write her family memoir
Washington, D.C. (November 7, 2025) – Connected Nation’s (CN) Digital Skills Training program is helping people across the country learn necessary technology skills, and you or your community could be next!
On October 29, the Alliance for Arlington Senior Programs hosted CN’s Digital Skills Training open workshops. These workshops are helpful for anyone – from those that need a refresher on the basics to those that need help with specific tasks.
Participant Larissa Tung-Berry came to this open workshop looking for some help learning the digital skills she required to write her family memoir.
She learned plenty of tips and tricks from the workshop on how to use her MacBook. Digital Skills Trainer Marco Mata showed her how to use the application Pages, which is a free word processor and page layout application from Apple.
“I’ve learned so much about using the Pages app on my MacBook,” Tung-Berry said. “Marco Mata showed me how to AirDrop and add photos to my files with captions that describe each picture, how to delete and rearrange photos, and how to restructure the family and ancestry story I’m working on.”
By joining CN’s open workshops, people with any level of technology skills can come in with their questions and get individualized support.
“I plan to use my new knowledge to complete my family history story and share it with future generations, both relatives and non-relatives, so that our story can keep our Chinese heritage alive and can continue to inspire others,” Tung-Berry said.
Digital skills are important to learn for everyone in any stage of life. If you’re interested in setting up or participating in one of these no-cost workshops, click here.
