Connected Texas Proud to Announce the TX Digital Inclusion Alliance

Connected Texas is proud to announce the formation of the TX Digital Inclusion Alliance! The founding members of the Alliance include the Texas State Library, Connected Texas, Technology for All, and AustinFreeNet.

The new alliance will begin collaboration among all the organizations across Texas that engage in digital literacy, inclusion, adoption and offering public computer access.

The collaboration will include sharing of best practices, prospects for sustainability and partnering on joint program opportunities. Among the goals of the collaboration is to create a standardized digital literacy curriculum that is relevant for the future. For example, current digital literacy curriculums don’t account for increasingly popular mobile devices including tablets and smartphones that have changed how people access the Internet.

The University of Texas Telecom Policy Institute is planning a gathering in April for anyone interested in digital inclusion and the new alliance. Connected Texas will publicize the event through this blog and a press release when details are finalized.
