Building digital confidence: Connected Nation empowers seniors at The Greenwood Senior Center
Corpus Christi, Texas (July 24, 2026) - On June 29 and 30, 2026, Connected Nation (CN) had the pleasure of partnering with The Greenwood Senior Center in Corpus Christi, Texas, to provide a two-day digital skills training designed for members of the local senior community. The class brought together a group of enthusiastic senior learners who were eager to strengthen their technology skills and gain confidence in today's digital world.
During the first day of training, participants explored computer basics and email basics, learning essential skills that can help them stay connected with family, friends, and important online services. On day two, the class focused on internet basics and internet safety, equipping students with the knowledge to confidently browse the web while recognizing common online scams and protecting their personal information.
One of the most rewarding aspects of the training was the positive energy shared throughout the classroom. The students encouraged one another every step of the way, creating a fun and supportive learning environment. Their excitement was especially evident during the end-of-day review quizzes, where a little friendly competition motivated everyone to do their best.
After reviewing the answers together, the instructor announced that every participant had passed, with the class answering the vast majority of the questions correctly. The room filled with smiles, applause, and a genuine sense of accomplishment. While passing the quizzes was certainly something to celebrate, the true success of the training went far beyond the scores.
Over the course of just two days, these seniors gained more than new digital skills — they gained confidence. Many left feeling empowered to continue exploring technology, communicate more easily online, and use the internet more safely in their everyday lives.
