Broadband assessment to kick off in Young County, community invited to take survey beginning January 30

Young County, Texas (January 30, 2022) – The Young County Broadband Committee, in collaboration with Connected Nation Texas (CN Texas), today announced the launch of a broadband assessment.

The committee is asking residents, business owners, ranchers, agriculture producers, first responders, community institutions, and health care officials to participate in a 10-minute survey designed to assess the community’s internet needs and usage. This engagement is the first step toward improving broadband adoption and access throughout the county.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to share their feedback beginning January 30. Respondents are asked to select the survey category or categories that best represents them or their organization. Access the survey by visiting: https://www.connectednation.org/young-county-texas.

“Young County is the home of diverse families, industries, and businesses, said Cathy Patridge, CEO for Graham Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau. “Yet one thing that links us all is the reliable accessibility and availability of the internet. Because of that, it is truly important that our residents and businesses participate in the broadband survey.”

Survey data will be used to develop a Technology Action Plan tailored to the county’s unique broadband needs. The plan will leverage community resources and identify solutions for improving internet connectivity for families, businesses, and community organizations.

The Young County engagement is generously supported by the Priddy Foundation.
