Baylor County to launch broadband engagement January 23, seeks input from community

Baylor County, Texas (January 23, 2023) – The Baylor County Broadband Committee, in collaboration with Connected Nation Texas (CN Texas), is announcing the launch of a broadband engagement beginning January 23.

The committee is asking residents, business owners, educational leaders, agriculture producers, first responders, community institutions, and health care officials to participate in a 10-minute survey designed to assess the community’s internet needs and usage. This engagement is the first step toward improving broadband adoption and access throughout the county.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to share their feedback beginning January 23. Respondents are asked to select the survey category or categories that best represents them or their organization. Access the survey by visiting: https://www.connectednation.org/baylor-county-texas.

"Baylor County joins several neighboring counties deploying a broadband survey to understand its access, adoption, and use of the internet” said Pam Waggoner, Broadband Solutions Manager for Connected Nation. “This is the first step in making sure the County is ready for the expansion of high-speed internet access for its communities."

Survey data will be used to develop a technology action plan tailored to the county’s unique broadband needs. The plan will leverage community resources and identify solutions for improving internet connectivity for families, businesses, and community organizations.

The Baylor County engagement is generously supported by the Priddy Foundation.
