Wharton 2

Wharton County, Texas (June 24, 2021) – Connected Nation Texas’ Technology Action Plan developed for Wharton County, was presented during a Wharton County Special Joint Meeting on Monday, June 21st. The meeting included members of the City Council, County Judge Spenrath, School Board Trustees, County Commissioners and El Campo Executive Director Carolyn Gibson in addition to other Community Champions. The meeting was hosted by the Wharton Economic Development Corporation.

“Wharton County, like large portions of rural Texas, doesn’t have sufficient internet service to meet the needs of businesses and residents,” says Joshua Owens, AICP, Wharton Economic Development Corporation. “Our Connected Nation Broadband Plan allows us to see where we are and identifies a path forward to where we want to be.”
