Your input needed to develop a plan to improve internet access and speeds across Lampasas and San Saba counties
Lampasas and San Saba Counties, TX. (April 6, 2021) – The Central Texas Council of Government (CTCOG) just launched work to develop a Technology Action Plan that will provide immediate and long-term solutions to improving internet access and speeds across Lampasas and San Saba counties. The committee consisting of local stakeholders is in partnership with Connected Nation Texas (CN Texas) to develop the plan.
“CTCOG recognizes broadband is as important to the economy in our region as the farm-to-market road system was when it was developed,” said Jim Reed, Central Texas Council of Government Executive Director. “We are proud to partner with Connected Nation and the counties in our region to move this initiative forward to expand and enhance broadband across the CTCOG region.”
Lampasas and San Saba counties are among many communities that are being selected to take part in a statewide effort led by CN Texas and funded by the Texas Rural Funders—at no cost to the counties or communities served.
“It is becoming clearer every day how important broadband is for our county. Broadband is no longer a luxury for only a few — regardless of where one lives in the county, broadband should be accessible,” said Lampasas County Judge Randall J. Hoyer. “Broadband internet is how we communicate and conduct business in today’s world. It is critical for the success of all sectors. I support Connected Nation and encourage all residents of Lampasas County to complete the survey.”
As part of this effort, the committee is asking every individual, business, and community organization to take 10 minutes and fill out a survey that corresponds with your county:

The Technology Action Plan, which will be developed by leveraging Connected Nation’s Connected Community Engagement Program, will be shaped by the information provided by local stakeholders. The Connected program has been used in nearly 400 communities across the country to develop county or regional-specific Technology Action Plans that offer both short-term and long-term broadband solutions.
