Connected Nation issues statement on confirmation of FCC Commissioner Nathan Simington

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (December 15, 2020) – Connected Nation Chairman and CEO, Tom Ferree, issued the following statement regarding the confirmation of Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Commissioner Nathan Simington: 

“Connected Nation congratulates the FCC’s newest commissioner – Nathan Simington – on his appointment and confirmation to one of the nation’s most critical roles in promoting the advancement of broadband infrastructure across America.  Connected Nation’s mission, like that of the FCC, is to close the Digital Divide wherever it may exist, and this work has never been more important in light of COVID-19.  Having grown up in a rural area, Commissioner Simington has firsthand experience regarding the challenges that rural residents face. We look forward to working with him and his office and to moving the needle towards a better-connected future for all Americans, and we wish him great success in this new role.”
