Connected Nation Taking Its Mission of Digital Inclusion International
Bowling Green, Ky. (March 12, 2019) - Connected Nation is heading to New Zealand next week to share best practices and programs for expanding broadband and accessing digital jobs, and improving digital literacy.

Chris Pedersen who serves as the Vice President of Development and Planning for CN will discuss closing the Digital Divide and how public-private partnerships can help communities. Connected Nation was invited to attend the New Zealand Outbound Program following its participation last year in a World Learning event in Washington, D.C. with leaders from around the world.
According to the New Zealand publication Voxy.co.nz, Pedersen will join several other speakers as they discuss the "intersections of agriculture and technology" among other topics.
Connected Nation has assisted communities in the United States and, when called upon, overseas for more than 17 years. The nonprofit works to empower local leaders with information and best practices as they plan for the expansion of broadband and its related technologies. Those efforts include a focus on improving digital learning, expanding access to digital (online) jobs, and working within private-public partnerships to improve access, adoption, and use among underserved and unserved populations.
The New Zealand Outbound Program will take place March 21-31. Speaking events for local officials and the public will be held in several towns throughout that ten days. Among the events, the town of Whangarei which is located in the Kaipara District will host what's been dubbed a "digital revolution breakfast" as part of the Northland Digital Enablement Group.
"[I'm] really excited about the opportunity to hear about how other parts of the world address issues such as adequate internet access and digital inclusion, especially for our rural communities," Anna Curnow, a Kaipara District Councillor, told Voxy.co. "We don’t often get a chance to speak directly with people with this level of experience. Something not to be missed."
