Texas Commissioner Talks Importance of Broadband
By Jeremy Thacker, Communications Specialist, Connected Texas
Texas Department of Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples is pointing to broadband as a critical key to new jobs in the state.
The Commissioner's Op-Ed is being picked up by newspapers across the Lone Star State, including the Lufkin Daily News. The piece explains why every Texan should care about the quality of their high-speed Internet connection.
"Jobs and improved quality of life — that’s what greater access to high-speed wireless service means," writes Staples.
The Op-Ed comes just after last week's release of the Texas Business Technology Assessment study which gives a detailed look into how broadband is impacting the state's economy.
