Telehealth Use: Perry County, Ohio - Healthcare
Telehealth refers to a collection of means and methods for enhancing healthcare, public health, and health education delivery and support using telecommunications technologies. The ability to remotely access healthcare can help improve the quality of life in rural communities that may not have physical access to state-of-the-art facilities. Additionally, telehealth applications provide new opportunities for community residents to “age in place.” Aging in place is the ability to live in one’s own home and community safely, independently, and comfortably, regardless of age, income, or ability level. The chart provides the frequency with which healthcare facilities in the community use various telehealth services, as well as the average frequency with which these applications are used by healthcare facilities in other Connected participating communities.
