Mason County Recognized As A Certified Connected Community

Mason County, MI. (July 19, 2016) - Northern Michigan’s Mason County has been recognized as a “certified connected community.”

Being a connected community certifies that mason county is taking action with technology–making them cutting edge in a rural community.

This certification places the county in a top 20% of the 64 other counties across the united states that have been recognized.

Mason County schools, hospitals and business have worked to integrate technology–to make the community a better place to live and work in.

“Really what the connect Michigan program seeks to do is create an underlying infrastructure which can support really great community amenities and programs,” says Spence Riggs, Economic Development Coordinator for the Mason County Growth Alliance.

The county will now have a technology action plan–to keep pushing forward with new technology goals.
