Digital Works Fort Campbell Completes First All-Virtual Class for Military Spouses, Veterans, and Spouses of Veterans

Work-at-Home Training and Job-Placement Assistance
Offered at No Cost to Participants

Fort Campbell, Ky (April 24, 2020)- Digital Works (DW) just wrapped its first all-virtual classfor its Fort Campbell location. Thirteen graduates—military spouses and veterans—completed the program and received certificates on Monday, April 20. Each graduate is now taking advantage of job-placement assistance offered by DW’s staff.

DW, which the national nonprofit Connected Nation developed in 2013 to meet the growing need for workers to fill online jobs, offers both technology training and job-placement assistance for teleworking, remote positions. The program is partnered with more than 70 companies nationwide and tailors training for those in-demand positions—increasing the opportunity and potential of quick placement.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Fort Campbell location began  offering two-week online training courses in mid-March to military spouses, veterans, and spouses of veterans living in the state of Kentucky—at no cost to participants.

“Our usual four-week program is phenomenal and truly encompasses so many necessary skills and techniques for remote work life,” said Digital Works Facilitator Jessica Golson. “When we realized how many people were without jobs and in need of income right now, we knew the standard month of training was not going to work. However, none of us wanted it to lose any of its vitality. So we created this virtual two-week program with the intent to still provide one-of-a-kind telework preparation but do so within a reasonable amount of time so we could get people into jobs faster.”

A total of 30 graduates have now gone through the program via the Fort Campbell location. The next class will start Monday, April 27, and more classes are being added as more military spouses, veterans, and spouses of veterans register.  There are two ways to register for work-at-home training and job-placement assistance:

  • Go to digitalworksjobs.org and click on “Fort Campbell” under the locations tab. There will be instructions on how to register.

  • Go to digitalworksjobs.org and click on training, then “register now.” Be sure to choose the “Fort Campbell” location.
