Broadband Across Texas Week Aims to Get Everyone Online

Any Texan lacking the knowledge needed to use the Internet now has a golden opportunity approaching!

The second annual Broadband Across Texas (BAT) Week is set for the week of June 23-29. The week includes free Internet and computer training classes at more than 90 Public Computing Centers (PCCs) across the state. Daily events are scheduled in Austin, Houston, San Antonio, and numerous rural locations in Texas.

Free classes will cover topics like using a computer, navigating the Internet safely, and online job-hunting.

The Texas Connects Coalition is presenting BAT Week with support from the Connected Texas initiative. All the computer classes are free and many will be taught in both English and Spanish. No registration or documentation of any kind is needed to attend. For more information on class topics, times, and locations, please visit http://txc2.org/, http://www.austinfree.net/or www.techforall.org.
