Connected Nation celebrates outstanding Project Manager Tanisha Osborne during Black History Month

February 23, 2023 (Evans City, PA) - History.com defines Black History Month as “an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing their central role in U.S. history.” I can’t think of a better time to introduce the broadband world to Tanisha Osborne. Tanisha not only excels in her career as a Project Manager for Connected Nation, she is also an amazing wife, mother of four and the Youth Director at her church.

One of the first questions I asked her was, “How do you manage it all?”

“I think raising four kids is what has made me so successful in project management,” Tanisha replied. “I am always planning, initiating, executing, monitoring, and closing a project with them. But I can’t take all the credit; my planner keeps me in check.”

Tanisha grew up in Kentucky — she relocated with her family to the town of Bowling Green when she was in seventh grade. As you might already know, Bowling Green is home to Connected Nation’s corporate office. She began her career with us as a temporary employee in the human resource department and was quickly identified as someone who would excel in project management.

She says she “loves seeing a project through all the stages. There is nothing more rewarding than being able to see a project completed successfully.” Statements like these clearly show that Tanisha was born to be a Project Manager! As her colleague, I can tell you that she faces challenges head on and ensures that deadlines are met even when projects are difficult, all while remaining helpful and positive.

I think Tanisha is the perfect example of what hard work, determination, and a positive attitude can do. While she already has her Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification, she recently decided to further her education by pursuing a bachelor’s degree in project management and hopes to take the Project Management Professional (PMP) exam at the end of this year.

Yep, you heard me — she’s a full-time employee, wife, mother, church volunteer AND working toward her bachelor’s degree. Tanisha embodies the term “Boss Lady,” and does it all with patience and a smile on her face. While she acknowledges that her work ethic contributes to her success, Tanisha loves Jesus and says, “I wouldn’t have made it without him.”

In her free time, Tanisha and her husband, Robbie, and their children, Tania, Robbie Jr., Jordan, and Aaliyah, are all avid sports fans, and they love to root for the University of Kentucky Wildcats.

I asked Tanisha if she had one piece of advice for teenagers and young adults who are working toward their dreams and goals. She responded, “Hard work pays off. The reward may not be immediate, but trust me, there is a reward coming.”

February is the perfect month to highlight Tanisha. She exemplifies what Black History Month is all about – a celebration of the millions of outstanding Black Americans like her who make the world a much better place.
