Connected Nation honored with two national Communicators Awards

Bowling Green, Kentucky (May 16, 2022) – Connected Nation, a national nonprofit working to close the Digital Divide, received two Awards of Distinction during last week’s 28th Annual Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA) Communicators Awards.

Awards of Distinction are given to projects that exceed industry standards in quality and achievement. The Connected Nation podcast, which is now in season three, was recognized in the category of “podcast: technology series,” and the nonprofit’s 2021 anniversary event titled, “A national conversation on the Digital Divide” received the award in the “general: public service/activism in virtual/remote” category.

“Our entire team is thrilled to receive both of these prestigious awards. But we are especially honored that our 20th anniversary event is being acknowledged on a national stage,” said Jessica Denson, Communications Director, Connected Nation. “This one-of-a-kind event featured live, expert panels in cities across the country, as well as stories from American communities about the negative impacts of the Digital Divide and how to improve digital equity. The event was a reminder of why it is critical that we work together to ensure every individual and family has access to high-speed internet and the digital tools they need to be successful.”

AIVA is a national, invitation-only membership organization comprising top-tier professionals from acclaimed media, communications, advertising, creative, and marketing firms. AIVA members include executives from Amazon, Conde Nast, Disney, ESPN, GE Digital, IBM, Spotify, Time, Inc., the Wall Street Journal/Dow Jones, and Wired.

The 28th Annual Communicator Awards received more than 4,000 entries from ad agencies, digital agencies, production firms, in-house creative professionals, graphic designers, design firms, and public relations firms.
