Connected Nation seeks Kentucky veterans to take part in no-cost digital skills and job placement assistance program, classes begin March 14

Digital Works program connects participants with high-demand telework professions across the country

Fort Campbell, Kentucky (March 3, 2022) – Digital Works (DW), a program developed by the national nonprofit Connected Nation (CN), is helping Kentucky veterans get back into the workforce or develop new skillsets for better jobs by providing digital jobs training and placement assistance at no cost to participants. All of the jobs are remote, economic-base, and in-demand positions. The next Digital Works class for veterans, military and veteran spouses, and active/transitioning soldiers starts on March 14.

The classes are offered virtually over the course of two weeks, and give participants the opportunity to learn new digital skills and find remote jobs. To be eligible for upcoming classes, interested participants must reside in Kentucky or the Fort Campbell area, which includes portions of Tennessee, be at least 18 years old, and have a high school diploma or GED.

Digital Works has established relationships with more than 70 employers across the country and customizes its training so participants are learning the skills companies are searching for most in employees. The program recently placed its 1,000th graduate – a veteran— in a new position in the midst of the pandemic.

“It takes a certain kind of person to serve — someone who is committed, a problem-solver, and able to adapt to and overcome new challenges,” said Melissa Anderson, Digital Works Facilitator and Development Coordinator. “These are just some of the life skills learned in the military that make most veterans a perfect match for the modern workforce. Connected Nation is proud to help Kentucky’s heroes and their families boost their skillsets and connect them with flexible, in-demand telework jobs.”

Kentucky veterans are encouraged to apply now to reserve their seat for the next for Digital Works class on March 14.
