Bowling Green, Ky. (August 12, 2021) – Connected Nation is excited to share the news that Ashley Hitt, Vice President, GeoAnalytics will serve in the position of President-Elect for the URISA Board of Directors.
“Ashley has long been an innovator in the GIS world and has used her unique skillset to shine a light on the Digital Divide,” said Tom Ferree, Chairman & CEO, Connected Nation. “She has been a tireless advocate for the collection of better broadband data as a way to highlight those who are truly unserved or underserved when it comes to internet access—a need that we can all agree became critical during the pandemic. She has been a driving force in establishing what is now considered the industry standard for geospatial analysis of the telecommunications sector. What’s more, Ashley’s spirit of servant-leadership and long association with URISA is responsible for the guidance and development of many young professionals as well as earning immense respect from her GIS colleagues, internationally. We are delighted to see these talents recognized by this election and we know she will do great things in this new role.”
Hitt will serve in the position of President-Elect and Judy Colby-George, Stacey Corbett, and Tim Nolan will serve as Directors. They will all begin their three-year terms at the conclusion of GIS-Pro 2021 which is taking place October 3-6 in Baltimore, Maryland.
“I am incredibly honored and excited to serve URISA as President-Elect,” said Hitt. “There is so much amazing work the organization and members do for the geospatial industry, and we will continue to grow together in our accomplishments. URISA has a strong vision and strategic goals for the profession, for all students and professionals, and for the organization itself. This is an amazing association that has provided so many opportunities and solutions for everything geospatial. I look forward to the next three years!”
