Pennsylvania Newspaper Tackles Digital Divide with Influencer Project

State College, PA (March 26, 2019) - A Pennsylvania newspaper is bringing together state leaders, influencers, and the public to address the lack of broadband access families and businesses throughout the commonwealth.

The Centre Daily Times , with support from the Knight Foundation, has connected with more than a dozen influential Pennsylvanians to tackle what it calls "the rural broadband crisis."

According to the Centre Daily Times' reporter, Adam Smeltz, "Rural communities without robust digital access are missing revolutionary advancements in how we take care of ourselves, teach ourselves, find work and build a better life."

Connected Nation could not agree more. This is a forward-thinking and innovative approach to bringing together the public and those who can affect change.  If it's done well, it can create a dialog and understanding between those directly affected by the lack of access and those who can help improve the issue.

The Centre Daily Times is asking for input from those living in the commonwealth in advance an April 24 live, public event to discuss solutions. To view the survey or, if you're a state resident, respond to it, head to this article and scroll down.
