Baylor County, Texas (April 6, 2023) – The Baylor County Broadband Committee needs more residents, business owners, community organizations, farmers, education leaders, and others to provide input on where internet access can be improved, expanded, or even made more affordable.

The Committee, in collaboration with Connected Nation Texas (CN Texas), has set up a short survey to collect your input. It can be found at the following link, and it takes just 10 minutes to fill out connectednation.org/baylor-county-texas.

“We know that Baylor County residents have varying levels of satisfaction with their home internet service and that can impact their personal and professional lives,” said Lauren Bush, Department Head of the City Economic Development Department and Executive Director of the Seymour Community Development Corporation. “This survey is important for the County to identify and assess the current and future needs of prioritizing how and where we expand high speed internet. We need support from both businesses and residents from all areas to complete the survey. “

Respondents are asked to select the survey category or categories that best represent themselves or their organization.  The work was launched in January, but more survey responses are needed to develop a Technology Action Plan that’s truly tailored to the county’s unique broadband needs.  Once completed, the plan will leverage community resources and identify immediate and long-term solutions for improving internet connectivity for families, businesses, and community organizations.

The Baylor County engagement is generously supported by the Priddy Foundation.   To learn more about the CN Texas Connected Community Engagement Program, visit: https://connectednation.org/connect-my-community/
