Comanche County, Oklahoma (February 16, 2023) – Comanche County has released the results of a comprehensive broadband survey and subsequent Technology Action Plan designed to increase high-speed internet access regardless of income level.
The broadband engagement is part of the Connected Community Engagement Program administered through Connected Nation and funded by The Priddy Foundation. The program empowers local leaders and communities through collaborative, data-driven technology planning. To date, the Connected Engagement Program has helped more than 650 communities across the country build comprehensive Technology Action Plans.
“Reliable internet access is critical for participating in today’s digital world,” said Molly Weiner, Connected Nation Director of Local and Regional Planning. “These recommendations focus on the key components of connectivity, from access to adoption to use.”
Based on the survey findings, the Comanche County Technology Action Plan includes the following recommendations:
- Improve internet speeds and digital equity in Comanche County through greater education, participation, and planning.
- Ensure that Comanche County residents can access broadband internet regardless of income level.
- Ensure Comanche County residents have the skills they need for the jobs of the future.
