Online Purchasing: Lauderdale County, AL - Business

Between 2007 and 2017, e-commerce's share of all retail sales more than doubled and is projected to continue growing. Often, online purchases are made from retailers located far away from the purchaser. However, local businesses can benefit from participating in e-commerce activities among not only purchasers located outside the community, but also from those within. This chart shows the average amount spent online at local and non-local businesses by households in the community compared to the average in other Connected communities. Local businesses are those within 50 miles of the household, while non-local businesses are those located further than 50 miles away.
