The Executive Director, Office of School Connectivity Strategy (State of Iowa) is a state-based leadership position that is focused on significantly improving the speed, cost, and reliability of school Internet and WAN connectivity for all public schools across Iowa. This position requires in-depth knowledge of, and significant experience with, the Universal Service Administrative Company’s (USAC) Schools & Libraries Program—also known as the “E-rate Program”—to ensure that program funding is maximized for prospective applicants while maintaining strict compliance with established rules and regulations.
This position will lead the exploration and potential execution of new initiatives that support better school connectivity, including the formation of a statewide WAN for K-12 schools, purchasing consortia, and fiber optic special construction projects. As a state government position that is contracted through Connected Nation, this position will serve as the primary point of contact within state for all E-rate process and policy matters and will oversee school district outreach and communication as well as the facilitation of all stages of the E-rate application and review process on behalf of school districts that wish to participate. A Master’s degree in school administration, business administration, public administration, or a related field is required.
